SMCC is a Registered Charity (Reg No 1001003), formed in 1990 to cater to the needs of a growing Muslim population in Stevenage and surrounding areas. You can find its aims and objectives here. In 2002 the local Muslim Community got together to build a Mosque & a Commuinty Centre. It is first, and so far, the only purpose built Masjid (Mosque) in North Hertfordshire.
